Mumbai based oral wellness brand Salt Oral Care has raised USD 1 million (INR 9 crore) in a pre-Series A round led by Lotus Holdings, the family office of Lotus Herbals. The investment will be done in two tranches and values the company at a post money valuation of USD 5.3 million (~INR 45 crore). This is a big milestone for the young startup which is focused on luxury, sustainability and science backed oral care.

Founded in 2023 by Karan Raj Kohli and Viraj Kapur, Salt Oral Care has already established itself as a well known name in the Indian oral hygiene market. The founders said that the investment from Lotus Holdings aligns with their long term vision of building a legacy brand and not discount led growth.

“This is a huge win for us,” said co-founder Karan Raj Kohli. “Salt is now being benchmarked against global players — a rare feat for an Indian oral care brand.” His co-founder Viraj Kapur added, “We have always taken the road less travelled. Our growth is based on brand trust and performance not aggressive discounting.”

Salt Oral Care has seen 448% growth in the last financial year which is attributed to strong customer retention and growing D2C presence. The company had earlier raised USD 358,000 in seed funding from Saurashtra Capital and other investors.

Salt’s growth is not just about numbers — it’s also about redefining daily oral care. The brand combines luxury aesthetics with eco friendly packaging, offering products in reusable and recyclable containers. The focus on clean formulations and rigorous product testing is a broader trend in the wellness space towards transparency and sustainability.

With the new funding Salt Oral Care plans to scale up operations not just in India but also in select international markets. The company believes its unique blend of minimalism, sustainability and science backed innovation makes it a strong player in the global oral care space. As India changes and premium is the new normal Salt Oral Care will be the voice of oral wellness that talks performance and principle.
