Codeyoung, the Bengaluru-based edtech platform delivering one-on-one online learning for school students, has raised USD 5 million (~INR 44.34 crore) in a Series A funding round co-led by 12 Flags Group and Enzia Ventures. The round also facilitated an exit for some of the company’s early investors, including Guild Capital.

Codeyoung raises INR 44 crore Series A

Founded in 2020 by Shailendra Dhakad and Rupika Taneja, Codeyoung offers personalized live classes for children aged 5–17 across Coding, Math, English, Science, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and SAT Preparation. The platform aims to make quality education accessible globally, blending structured pedagogy, measurable outcomes, and technology-driven personalization.

A Leap Toward Global Expansion and AI Personalization

The newly raised capital will fuel Codeyoung’s global expansion across its existing international markets, particularly in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. A significant portion of the funds will also go toward building AI-driven personalization tools and launching new learning categories.

Speaking on the development, Shailendra Dhakad, Co-founder and CEO of Codeyoung, said:

“Parents choose us for two reasons — skilled educators and visible learning progress. We’ve built a model where outcomes come first. Students learn at their own pace, while parents have full visibility into their child’s progress. Families everywhere want learning that feels personal, dependable, and measurable. This investment allows us to bring that experience to more children across the world.”

Rupika Taneja, Co-founder and COO, added:

“Quality at scale comes from systems — selective hiring, structured training, regular audits, and transparent communication with parents. Our one-on-one model ensures consistent learning, measurable outcomes, and a reliable experience for families.”

Trusted Investors Backing a Sustainable Model

12 Flags Group, founded by Rakesh Kapoor, former Global CEO of Reckitt Benckiser, and Enzia Ventures co-led the Series A round. Commenting on the investment, Kapoor remarked:

“Education is most transformative when institutional learning is complemented with personalized, one-on-one guidance. Codeyoung has thoughtfully integrated AI to make that personalization scalable — delivering outcomes at scale without losing the human connection.”

Namita Dalmia, Co-founder and Partner at Enzia Ventures, noted that Codeyoung stands apart in a sector often challenged by trust and scalability:

“The challenge in edtech has been sustaining trust in the absence of measurable outcomes and maintaining financial discipline at scale. Codeyoung has taken a disciplined path, focusing on tangible results and long-term sustainability.”

Codeyoung: By the Numbers

Since its inception, Codeyoung has delivered more than 20 lakh hours of learning to over 25,000 students across 15 countries, boasting course completion rates above 80%, renewal rates exceeding 60%, and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) above 65.

Codeyoung currently has around 1,100 independent trainers who conduct 5–6 sessions per week. Its operations team of 350 employees is based in Bengaluru. The company reports a monthly revenue of approximately USD 1.8 million (~INR 15.96 crore) and an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of USD 15 million (~INR 133.03 crore), maintaining cash flow positivity — a rare feat in the post-pandemic edtech landscape.

Approximately 70% of Codeyoung’s student base is from North America, 25% from the UK, and the remaining 5% from other regions, reflecting the platform’s strong global footprint.

Building a Lasting Edtech Legacy

Codeyoung’s approach stands out in a market dominated by large players such as BYJU’S, Vedantu, Cuemath, and WhiteHat Jr. While many edtech startups have faced headwinds due to funding slowdowns and trust challenges, Codeyoung’s disciplined growth, focus on measurable learning outcomes, and prudent financial management have earned it recognition — including being named “Edtech Startup of the Year” at the Entrepreneur Startup Awards 2025.

In an industry where many platforms chase aggressive scale at the expense of sustainability, Codeyoung’s philosophy is refreshingly clear: education rooted in measurable progress, powered by technology, and delivered with human empathy.
