In a major push towards sustainable aviation infrastructure, Servotech Renewable Power System has bagged an order from Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) to install 10 ultra-fast 240 kW DC electric vehicle (EV) chargers at Kempegowda International Airport, the first and largest dedicated airside EV charging hub at an Indian airport.
The Servotech-Bengaluru project will have a total installed capacity of 2.4 megawatts to support the airport’s airside EV fleet, primarily electric buses that transport passengers between terminals and aircraft. This will significantly reduce turnaround times and operational efficiency while reducing the airport’s transportation-related carbon emissions.

Greening the Skies
This is part of Karnataka’s vision to become a carbon-negative state, and electrifying operations at one of the country’s busiest airports is the scale of ambition. Located within the airport premises, the 24/7 charging station will be a critical enabler for round-the-clock electric mobility in aviation logistics.
With this, Kempegowda International Airport not only enhances its infrastructure to support clean transportation but also sets a benchmark for airports across India and Asia to adopt fast EV charging for airside operations.
Servotech-Bengaluru Airport Project Scope and Technology
As part of the agreement, Servotech Renewable will supply, erect, test, commission and provide five years of maintenance of the entire charging hub. These 240 kW ultra-fast chargers are designed to charge large electric vehicles quickly with minimal downtime and higher fleet availability.
“We are excited to work with Bengaluru International Airport in their mission to drive change,” said Sarika Bhatia, Director at Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. “This is more than just an infrastructure project. It’s a step towards transforming urban transport at one of India’s busiest airport. Servotech is proud to be a part of this transformation.”
The deployment at the airport will not only reduce the carbon footprint of transport services but also be a pilot project for similar airside electrification projects across the country.
About Servotech Renewable
Servotech Renewable (formerly Servotech Power Systems) has over 20 years of experience in electronics and brings that to the EV space. The company offers both AC and DC EV chargers for domestic and commercial use. Having worked with multiple oil marketing companies earlier, Servotech has established itself as a major player in India’s EV infrastructure space.
This is another big project in the company’s growing portfolio of large public EV charging projects and its commitment to India’s clean energy mission.

Looking Ahead
With increasing passenger traffic and growing demand for green mobility, airports across India are under pressure to modernise infrastructure with sustainability in mind. Servotech charging station installation at Kempegowda International Airport is not just a showcase of what’s possible with current EV charging technology—it’s a call to action for similar transformations in other transportation hubs.
As electric mobility gains traction, this project will inspire policy changes, infrastructure investments and wider adoption of fast-charging solutions across aviation and urban mobility sectors.
