Future Secure AI Innovation Program launched by IIT Kanpur and Shibodhi Foundation to nurture deep-tech entrepreneurship among India’s youth.
In a major push to encourage deep-tech entrepreneurship among India’s youth, IIT Kanpur in collaboration with Shibodhi Foundation, has launched the Future Secure AI Innovation Program. The program aims to empower undergraduate students to build pathbreaking solutions in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity—two areas critical to the country’s technological and security landscape.
Shibodhi Foundation, led by Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy—Founder Chairman and Board Member of Cyient and an alumnus of IIT Kanpur—has been instrumental in bringing this program to life. The launch event saw the presence of Dr. Reddy, along with Dr. PNSV Narasimham, President & Head of Corporate Functions at Cyient; Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur; Prof. Deepu Philip, Professor In-Charge of the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), IIT Kanpur; and Mr. Kapil Kaul, CEO of IIT Kanpur Development Foundation.
Future Secure AI Innovation Program: Student Entrepreneurs
FSAI Program will provide selected student teams with a grant of INR 6 lakh for prototype development, along with mentorship from faculty and industry leaders, incubation support, access to advanced infrastructure, masterclasses, investor networking opportunities and potential seed funding after incubation.
Prof. Manindra Agrawal said,
“In today’s fast changing digital world, AI applications are changing our lives. At the same time cyber theft and cyber fraud has become more common. FSAI is to equip young minds with the right tools and platforms to make meaningful contributions in AI and Cybersecurity”
Prof. Deepu Philip described the program as “a movement to inspire and support students to build deep-tech solutions that can shape the future”, emphasizing on the program’s strong mentorship framework and resource accessibility.
Dr. Reddy said,
“With AI and Cybersecurity changing everything, this initiative is to provide the right resources, the right mentorship and the freedom to innovate responsibly—so that technology serves society’s best interests”
A New Benchmark in Campus Innovation
IIT Kanpur and its partners will connect academic talent with financial, technical and industry resources to set a new benchmark for student-led innovation. The FSAI Program will strengthen the startup ecosystem within the institute and IIT Kanpur as a deep-tech entrepreneurship hub in India.
Will create AI and Cybersecurity ventures that will drive technological progress and national resilience in the digital age.
