Abakkus Asset Manager IPO Contours & Timeline

The proposed listing window is FY27 (April 2026–March 2027), and the firm is expected to pick its BRLM syndicate shortly after recent pitch meetings. While the company is not seen as needing primary capital, the listing is being explored as a way to provide liquidity and retention incentives to employees via monetisation of stock options.

However, Abakkus did not make an official comment on the IPO plans. But people familiar with the matter said that an IPO “becomes a solid wealth-creation event for the overall team,” underscoring the talent-retention rationale.

Business Snapshot and Scale

Founded in 2018 by market veteran Sunil Singhania, Abakkus manages INR 40,795 crore (USD 4.54 billion) in listed Indian equities as of 31 December 2025 and operates across PMS, AIFs, private equity and institutional advisory offerings. The firm has a team strength of 92, reflecting its expansion from a boutique equities platform into a multi-product manager.

Internal documents from the group’s mutual fund arm also show Abakkus migrating from an LLP to a private limited structure and securing a series of regulatory permissions as it broadened product lines through 2024–25, mirroring its push to institutionalise the franchise. A presentation from the AMC cited AUM of INR 39,857 crore as of 31 October 2025 across long-only Indian equity strategies.

In 2025, Abakkus received final approval from SEBI to launch its mutual fund business, enabling it to take its equity style to a wider retail base. At the time, Singhania said the aim was to bring the same rigour and alpha focus that defined its PMS and AIF offerings to the mutual fund arena.
