Bira 91 Unlisted Share Description – Bira 91 beer is a popular brand in India made by B9 Beverages Limited, formerly known as B9 Beverages Private Limited. The New Delhi-based company, founded in 2015, is well-known among urban millennials for its distinctive branding, mouthwatering beer, and extensive draught network.
The company’s first brewery was based in the Belgian province of Flanders. After the beer was produced there using materials from the Himalayas, France, Belgium, and Bavarian farms, it was then shipped to India. Following the initial success, the business started producing beer in India using the same components.
Since the last few years, Bira 91 has been consistently witnessing growth not just in India but overseas as well. The company has maintained its position in the premium beer market and has set up India’s largest dispense beer network in restaurants and bars across the country and is internationally led by world world-class management team with strong industry experience with a background in consumer goods, and spirits, beer, and manufacturing.
Bira 91 is now available in over 550 towns and cities spread across 18 countries and brews its beers across five breweries in India.
The company during the year launched a new beer, RISE, and 7 limited-edition beers. Bira 91 also entered new categories with Hill Station hard ciders and Grizzly hard seltzers. The company participated in various national and international events including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, and a partnership with Delhi Capitals (IPL). Bira 91 Taproom launch at the Bengaluru International Airport, India Art Fair, India Cocktail Week, and numerous other F&B festivals.
In recent years, B9 Beverages has focused on increasing its geographical presence in the Canteen Stores Department, Airlines, and globally by entering the Cayman Islands, Canada, Germany, Israel, Mauritius, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Seychelles, Taiwan. Further, in addition to its ongoing breweries at Kovvur, Indore, Mysore, and Nagpur, the company is planning to enhance its production footprint by setting up new breweries in other states as well.

- Including the latest funding, Bira 91 has raised USD 290 million from investors such as Sixth Sense Ventures, Sofina, and Sequoia India.
- In March 2023, Bira 91 raised USD 10 million from Japan’s largest bank, MUFG Bank, three months after it raised USD 70 million in its Series D funding round from Japanese beer company Kirin Holdings. (Source: inc42.com)
