Sterlite Electric Unlisted Share Price

Sterlite Electric Share Price Description – Incorporated in 2015, Sterlite Electric Limited (formerly Sterlite Power Transmission Limited) has transitioned from a power transmission developer into a specialized capital goods manufacturer within the Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector. The company completed a strategic demerger of its Infrastructure (Build-Own-Transfer) business in India and Brazil into a separate entity, Sterlite Grid 5 Limited (Resonia), effective October 8, 2024. This move allows Sterlite Electric to focus exclusively on high-growth, high-value manufacturing and solutions.

The company is a global leader in manufacturing high-performance power conductors, extra-high voltage (EHV) power cables, and Optical Ground Wire (OPGW). It currently holds a dominant 70% market share in the High-performance Power Conductors segment and approximately 25-28% in the High Ampacity and AL59 conductors market in India. Sterlite Electric supplies major utilities across India and exports to over 75 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

The company’s operations are now centred around three core pillars:

  • Global Products & Solutions (GPS): Focused on the manufacturing of power transmission conductors, OPGW, and a wide range of power cables (6.6 kV to 400 kV).
  • Specialized EPC (Master System Integration – MSI): Executing complex, high-margin projects such as brownfield grid upgrades, reconductoring, and the replacement of ageing infrastructure using advanced mechanisation and drone-based surveys.
  • Convergence Infrastructure: Leveraging existing power utility assets to provide infrastructure services for telecommunication and communication service providers.

Sterlite Electric operates advanced manufacturing facilities in Jharsuguda and Haridwar (which recently added a new EHV cable line). To meet surging global demand, the company is also developing a major new greenfield plant in Vadodara, expected to be operational in FY2026, which will increase its conductor capacity by 45%

Sterlite Electric Share Price

Financially, the company has significantly strengthened its position, securing funding from the Global Environment Fund (GEF) and a prominent family office, resulting in cash reserves exceeding INR 1,000 crore. While previous IPO plans for the integrated entity were paused, the company is now positioning its standalone manufacturing and solutions business for future capital market engagement, backed by a robust order book of INR 7,276 crore and a 45% expansion in production capacity underway in Vadodara. Sterlite Electric continues to support global grid reliability through innovations like the IntelliSense AI-enabled cable and a focus on green energy transmission.
